Everyone knows you wear black at funerals. By the same token, everyone knows you wear white at weddings. Actually, that’s not entirely true. Only one person is usually wearing white at weddings. The color of the bride’s dress often indicates her level of purity. For some people the traditional white dress is not appropriate. Whether or not white is appropriate for a bride is irrelevant to choosing the right color for the right occasion.

The colors just highlight the theme. They do not set the theme for the party. There are certain other items that help with that. The decorations that signify each holiday are different as well. Just remember to put up the right decorations for the right holiday and you will into too much trouble with your guests. They probably shouldn’t comment too much on your decorations anyway.
