Different Colors Mean Different Things For Different People

For some people , yellow can be a bright happy color. People who feel this way will enjoy seeing it and may have more yellow objects in their home than someone who does not. Blue can sometimes strike up calming images. Other people associate blue with sadness and depression. What a given color in the visible light spectrum means depends on who is seeing the color and often the mood the viewer is in when he sees any given color. The same color can mean different things to the same person.

Colors are often chosen to highlight or accentuate a person’s mood. Movies are a good example. More important than the color in the movies is the lightning. A movie with a dark tone may choose lower lighting than a movie that is supposed to be bright and happy. The colors in a movie, along with the music, can help set the atmopsher of the film.

The colors we dress in are often meant to reflect our moods rather than reflect the moods of the person wearing them. Someone else who sees our clothes may make comments based on the moods they are experiencing. If the comments do not match the mood of the person, this can lead to conflict.
